Weeks go by so fast
I feel days go by so fast and now weeks are going by so fast, this time of year is even crazier then ever. With basketball and having 4 games a week recruiting a day or two a nigh tor two on the phone recruiting doesn't leave much time for anything else. I really do Love my job but sometimes I think is it worth it...especially when you lose a game( I know it is just a game right) that you should win. It stinks when you care and work harder at making the right decisions as a coach and some of the players you are coaching don't seem to care or put as much into it so doesn't mean as much. With that all being said we lost to Hastings Saturday a team we beat by 26 earlier in the year. Some things I have come to realize this day and age is how consumed people are with technology and such. Now don't get me wrong most of the time it is nice and some of the things I am at fault for too. But this team(the ladies) are so consumed with tweeter, facebook, candy crush, etc. that they forget to enjoy the moment. I am trying to make more of an effort not to be so "connected." I will even catch myself at night when Jared and I have an hour before bed we are both on phones or computers working, on social media or whatever. Whatever is on that can and should wait, being in the moment and such is much more important. I challenge you all to put down the phone, computer for more time and spend it with your family or spouse or have some you time... I don't think you will recruit it. I am trying to do some research on how to help these girls and the upcoming as it will only get worse and help them realize this. We have thought about taking away phones before games and making them do this or that but do they really learn that way or do they just resent you and want to go against you? Who knows, trial and error I guess maybe a way to find out. Just a little tid bit I have been thinking about a lot lately. We had some drama with some girls and it was all over tweeter, text and such no actually talking and it was the biggest drama we have had in a very long time! Drama is so not worth the effort put into it. Doing things on social media and texting not facebook is cowardish.
Onto the boys, they went to the Monster Trucks with daddy on Saturday while mommy was at her game. They loved it for the most part, Landon on the first truck was a bit scared and started to cry but then was fine just stayed close to dad. They have not stopped playing with their Monster Trucks since. Tristan even has a chant going, Go Big Foot and now at home it is Go Big Red Foot(the red is for Huskers I think because Jared said there was not a red truck). They were so excited to tell me Sunday morning all about the Monster trucks and how they went over cars and crushed them. I hated to miss it but was glad they had fun. It was a good daddy son bonding!

Prayers for Blake
I am asking all you that read my blog to pray for Blake, I had wrote about him awhile back he is a good friend of ours little boy( a twin:)) that has been really sick after his kidney transplant. They have been in the hospital since Dec. 7 (after being discharged after the transplant after three weeks) and are just ready to be home as a family and healthy. I got word from Jamie(Blake's mom) this morning that they got moved back to the PICU floor because they are worried Blake's kidney is rejection, so please pray that this is not it and they find answers soon. We pray for Blake every night and the boys ask about him and when we can play with him, I just tell them hopefully soon. It breaks my heart for this family that they or anyone has to go through this. So if you have an extra min. please pray for him and his family. He is such a fighter but I feel he has fought enough and deserve a break. Thank you all!

Sledding
As any of you know that look at the weather here in the Midwest is is suppose to be FREEZING, literally freezing! Well, the boys had been asking to go sledding for days and I knew it was suppose to get cold so we wanted to get out there even for a little bit before it go really cold here. so today I came home early from work to take them sledding. Jared was suppose to meet us at home but was a little late because he got busy at work. Anyways, I got them all bundled up, many layers and myself and man is that a process by yourself as I am getting hot and they are getting hot and crabby and just want to get outside. Anyways we made it soon enough and they LOVED it and had a lot of fun. Of course with it just me I didn't bother with a camera, I know shocking huh? They went in there little sleds and enjoyed that and then when Jared got home he blew up one of his snow tubes and they really liked that. Tristan just giggled the whole way down the hill and then at the bottom fell off and started laughing! I of course was enjoying it just as much they loved to just lay in the snow too. If the weather gets nicer and we get more snow we will definitely be enjoying more sledding!
Have a great day!

Bodammer Christmas
We spent a few days in Omaha for Christmas which was real nice to not have to be rushed. I had practice Dec. 26 evening so after swimming on Sunday we headed to Janet's Monday after running a few errands. While running around the boys got real tired and we were singing Christmas songs which were so funny. If I did not text you and you did not see on Facebook here is a preview of Landon singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town.
We were doing presents Monday night so the night before Christmas Eve so we had some work to do, mainly helping Janet wrap most of her gifts, get food for the evening and make the food. I got the boys down for nap Jared started wrapping and Janet went to the store. Then I helped wrap, thank goodness Jared and I were done so we could help. We didn't know if we would get it all done in one night so we were prepared to do some Christmas Eve too. Well to our surprise we got them all opened Monday.
Christmas Eve we just hung out and Jared and Janet went to a couple stores to finish up some last minute shopping (Jared for me, Janet a couple others and returned a few things). Christmas Eve we went to church all but Brandon's family as they had Amy's side then came home and Santa came to Grandma Janet's house. The boys did pretty good, were a little scared but didn't cry just kept their distance.
Christmas day the boys opened Santa gifts and it last all morning...which was fun. The boys got up at 8:30 came down to find a train under the train with many gifts. They LOVED the train(we were unsure what they may think) they played with the train for 45 min. then started opening their presents but after unwrapping every gift they wanted to literally open every gift and since it was just us and I was loving how they were loving it I figured why not and let them. That is maybe why it took us so long to open all their gifts. After gifts was lunch and nap time before another Christmas with Jared's extended family. They boys were getting tired and Tristan had asked to go to grandma's for bed a few times so we left about 8:00 or 8:30 to get them to bed, Tristan was not feeling well.
Thursday we got up and packed up and went to lunch to get back to Sioux City and unpack so I could get to practice before 6:00, poor Tristan did not feel well he slept the whole way home and then once we got home just wanted to lay on couch and sleep. He started running a 102-103 temp so we were unsure on what was going on but Friday the temp was lower and kept going down.

SWIMMING in December
The boys had been asking me if they could go to swimming lessons and I had to keep telling them no honey we don't have time. The swim lesson times were in the evenings and would not work out with Jared and I's schedule, we hope to again in the spring. Anyway, so we had some time off from basketball and Jared from work I told Jared we should go to a hotel and let them swim for a night or day or something. We had a few different options and had thought about going and visiting our friends little boy Blake (that had the kidney transplant) but he was pretty sick and didn't want to bother them and Landon had a little cold so we didn't know. By the way he is better then he was but still need prayers. So after talking with Jared's mom about it and such we came up with that she had a free night at Amistar Casino and we could use it and they could swim there, which worked out nicely. We left my dad's after breakfast and packing up about 12:45 so just in time for nap and a four and half hour car ride. The trip went great the boys slept a lot of it and we stopped along side of the road for pee breaks three times but still made it to Omaha by 5:00 which was really good time with two other stops so a total of 5 stops. The boys had an absolute BLAST swimming and those that know my boys know that they LOVE to eat when it was time to get out of the pool I told them we were going to eat, that did not matter to them they wanted to swim more. It was hard to get them out but I wanted to get them to eat and bed it was getting late. They were a bit ornery at dinner and ready for bed. Their cousins Ella, Hunter, Hannah, and Allie joined us!

| Trying to get all the kids to jump at same time...not happening but fun trying |
