A Hardworking Holiday Weekend!

It was indeed a hardworking weekend for the Bodammer family!  On Saturday, we loaded up the boys and headed to the Craigheads for a day full of painting.  They decided that they no longer wanted to be "that green house."  It was a full day, but it ended up looking sharp!  Late that evening, a phone call came in from some friends who needed help.  They learned that their house would have to be cleared out, due to the expected rising Missouri River.  Jared went out and worked until about 2 a.m., but they completely cleaned out the house.  While they lived close to the river, we later learned that the entire Dakota Dunes development could be affected.  Sunday and monday became days full of helping people move up and out.  Some people just moved everything out of their basements, while others loaded all their belongings into semi trailers.  The weeks ahead will involve more and more of the same.

Bring on the Beans (Or Just Sweet Potatoes)

That's right, the time has come.  Over the weekend, Momma B made some homemade baby food knowing that the day was just around the corner.  At the boy's doctor appointment today, he said they could begin eating baby food.  So, out came the sweet potatoes for dinner and while it was a messy situation, they loved them!  Momma plans to continue to make their food, moving from sweet potatoes, to squash, to carrots, to green beans and peas! We will freeze the food in ice trays and then store them in zip-lock bags.  Then, we can warm up what we need for each feeding and not waste quite so much food.

Over and Over and Over

That is what the boys are up to these days.  They just love to roll around.  Tristan rolled all the way over May 16, while Landon (not to be left behind) did so a day later.  We awake each morning to see how much they have moved.

First Day of School!

Yesterday was a big day for the boys...they went to school for the first time!  Of course not to study, but for Maddie's Show & Share.  Maddie had asked if she could bring the boys to Show & Share probably back in January, maybe even December.  She talks about them all the time and wanted her teacher and friends to get to meet these boys she loves and talks about all the time.  So, we made a deal that after RSV and flu season were over, we would take the boys.  We decided we would do it after Baptism, so Maddie could plan!  So you better believe when Baptism was over she said, "Can they come on Monday?"  I checked our schedule and Wednesday morning seemed to work the best for all.  So, here are a few pictures of Maddie showing off the Bodie Boys.

Hold On Little Fellas...

It's a big week and there is lots happening!  Today, Tristan held his bottle his entire feeding and Landon held his bottle for about half the feeding.  Here is the proof...

Big Bodie Boys

The boys are getting big in size and doing more and more.  Today, Landon weighed in at 12 lbs. 4 oz and Tristan was 12 lbs. 10.5 oz, and they are each about 23 inches long.  They are eating cereal twice a day and loving it!  They also both rolled over from tummy to back!! It was such a big day.  We are working on rolling all the way over, but this is a start.  Landon is a mover, usually when we go in their room in the morning he has moved from where we left him so it is only a matter of time before they are moving everywhere!

What a Weekend!

This past weekend was so much fun and went way TOO fast!!  The week leading up to it was just as busy trying to get everything prepared.  Jared was really busy... not home at all and always working, coaching, and such so I was on my own.  Yet, I must say I did pretty darn good.  I wanted it to be perfect for my boys' first big event...their Baptism.  So, I started making a list last week as to what I NEEDED to do or get done and what I wanted to get done.  I went day by day and got most of the things I wanted to get done, done.  I had some help from a friend at work as well as Brandon and Cassie.  Thank you so much!  I wanted pictures hung on our walls since we have been in our house now since October and the walls were still bare.  I know many of you may think, you have been a little busy which is all true, but I still wanted it done. Yes we moved in October 27th and Nov. 12th I was in the hospital on bed rest, had the boys on Nov. 26th and they were in the hospital forever, but I still wanted our house to look like a home.  Sometimes it is good to have events or parties at your house because it makes you get stuff done!

Anyways, on to our event filled weekend.  On friday, Alison, mom, Kristy and the kids came to hang out for the weekend and stay with us. That night, we ordered pizza and hung out by the fire and made smores.  Saturday, we had a little more to do in preparation for Sunday's Baptism, but mainly we just hung out and got ready for the next crew to come in on Saturday night.  Jared's entire family came in on that night, so we grilled out and again made smore smores.  The weather this past weekend was so AWESOME!!!  It was nice to be outside and we even took the boys out some when they were awake.

Then the BIG day came for the boys.  We were so excited as were they!  They did great in church as they slept most of the time and then woke up to eat right when it was time for their Baptism (which I knew may happen).  I will add some pictures soon, my camera is dead and can't find the charger.  We had a house full of family and friends ( I think I counted more than 45).  The day even included the first-ever kick ball game on the Bodammer Pitch.  It was a pretty classy event as we used empty cases of beer as the bases!  It was so nice that so many people were able to be a part of the day.  For everyone who traveled for the weekend or the day.... THANK YOU!  We had a such a great time and missed the family and friends that couldn't make it, but understand people can't make everything!  We are so blessed to have such amazing family and group of friends and so blessed to have our healthy baby boys!  God is GREAT!

It is always so hard when everyone leaves.  I hate to see everyone go home and we have to go back to work, but it makes the next time we are all together something to look forward to.  It also is a reminder not to take these moments for granted.
