Bodammer Christmas

We spent a few days in Omaha for Christmas which was real nice to  not have to be rushed.  I had practice Dec. 26 evening so after swimming on Sunday we headed to Janet's Monday after running a few errands.  While running around the boys got real tired and we were singing Christmas songs which were so funny.  If I did not text you and you did not see on Facebook here is a preview of Landon singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

We were doing presents Monday night so the night before Christmas Eve so we had some work to do, mainly helping Janet wrap most of her gifts, get food for the evening and make the food.  I got the boys down for nap Jared started wrapping and Janet went to the store.  Then I helped wrap, thank goodness Jared and I were done so we could help.  We didn't know if we would get it all done in one night so we were prepared to do some Christmas Eve too.  Well to our surprise we got them all opened Monday.

Here is the presents, cray huh??

Landon and mommy and we both have our eyes open

Family picture, eyes open, looking at camera(sorta) and mostly smiles

Three little ones being VERY patent waiting their turn

Now Landon's turn and Tristan being patient

Tristan helping pick up wrapping paper, such a good helper, he did it all night it was cute

Gotta past the time when it is not our turn

The boys got "big headphones" from aunt Tara and an IPOD...I was shocked and so excited they were too.  Landon was all about it and Tristan wanted to know where his was...and he got one too.

Very cool gift we got from Amy and Brandon...we are so blessed with such wonderful family and get spoiled all the time.

Christmas Eve we just hung out and Jared and Janet went to a couple stores to finish up some last minute shopping (Jared for me, Janet a couple others and returned a few things).  Christmas Eve we went to church all but Brandon's family as they had Amy's side then came home and Santa came to Grandma Janet's house.  The boys did pretty good, were a little scared but didn't cry just kept their distance.

Boys got Monster trucks from Santa and went up by him as long as daddy was not far

Dad even got a present

grandma reading Santa coming to Omaha to the little ones

Christmas day the boys opened Santa gifts and it last all morning...which was fun.  The boys got up at 8:30 came down to find a train under the train with many gifts.  They LOVED the train(we were unsure what they may think) they played with the train for 45 min. then started opening their presents but after unwrapping every gift they wanted to literally open every gift and since it was just us and I was loving how they were loving it I figured why not and let them.  That is maybe why it took us so long to open all their gifts.  After gifts was lunch and nap time before another Christmas with Jared's extended family.  They boys were getting tired and Tristan had asked to go to grandma's for bed a few times so we left about 8:00 or 8:30 to get them to bed, Tristan was not feeling well.

Boys seeing the train for the first time (yes Landon has a baby doll, they like playing with the dolls at grandma Janet's)

Tristan loving his train too

More of the train...both boys loving it

Landon with his stocking

Landon's face is great...OHHHH he says another train

Landon says ohhh these are neat.  Both boys wanted to just wear their new green shoes all day

My handsome boys

Tristan was done and ready to go to bed already and it was only 5:00

newest baby on the "Bodammer" side,  Maxwell Kolbe (John and Justina's baby boy, 2 weeks old) John is  Jared's cousin.

The boys brought some monster trucks and we found the smallest place in the house to jam into, but the boys had fun.

Landon holding baby Noah(Matt and Courtney's baby, another one of Jared's cousin).   Landon LOVES I mean LOVES babies and just wanted to keep holding him and Tristan asked too but he had to eat.

Thursday we got up and packed up and went to lunch to get back to Sioux City and unpack so I could get to practice before 6:00, poor Tristan did not feel well he slept the whole way home and then once we got home just wanted to lay on couch and sleep.  He started running a 102-103 temp so we were unsure on what was going on but Friday the temp was lower and kept going down.

SWIMMING in December

The boys had been asking me if they could go to swimming lessons and I had to keep telling them no honey we don't have time.  The swim lesson times were in the evenings and would not work out with Jared and I's schedule, we hope to again in the spring.  Anyway, so we had some time off from basketball and Jared from work I told Jared we should go to a hotel and let them swim for a night or day or something.  We had a few different options and had thought about going and visiting our friends little boy Blake (that had the kidney transplant) but he was pretty sick and didn't want to bother them and Landon had a little cold so we didn't know.  By the way he is better then he was but still need prayers.  So after talking with Jared's mom about it and such we came up with that she had a free night at Amistar Casino and we could use it and they could swim there, which worked out nicely.  We left my dad's after breakfast and packing up about 12:45 so just in time for nap and a four and half hour car ride.  The trip went great the boys slept a lot of it and we stopped along side of the road for pee breaks three times but still made it to Omaha by 5:00 which was really good time with two other stops so a total of 5 stops.  The boys had an absolute BLAST swimming and those that know my boys know that they LOVE to eat when it was time to get out of the pool I told them we were going to eat, that did not matter to them they wanted to swim more.  It was hard to get them out but I wanted to get them to eat and bed it was getting late.  They were a bit ornery at dinner and ready for bed.  Their cousins Ella, Hunter, Hannah, and Allie joined us!

Daddy and boys

Landon absolutely LOVES to jump in the pool

Trying to get all the kids to jump at same time...not happening but fun trying

Rosenmeyer Christmas

This past weekend we were in Wesley for my side Christmas. We spent lots of time with mom and my family.   It was really a lot of fun being home I always enjoy family time.  We got in Thursday in time for Jackson 4:15 basketball game, a little junior high basketball.  The boys really enjoyed watching Jackson and keep cheering for him it was so cute.  Then we stopped to visit mom at her new place, which is so nice but still hard to go and really hard to leave.  She was ok but nights are always tough for her but I thought she was pretty good.

Friday was a fun day and some of you maybe shocked to hear this but we went out to the farm and my brothers Steve and Levi were castrating the calves and they needed help so I helped them.  I also got to watch them take their norms off, that was a bit much for me.  I mean I am not a male to understand the pain of your balls being taken out :), but he horns are literally sawed off and then they cauterize it but by then they say it is numb.  It was quite the day of new experiences for me.  As when I grew up we didn't have cows we raised pigs.  Let me tell you the size of nuts on some of those calves are incredible...wow is all I have to say.  And something even worse is people eat them and no joke LIKE them...DISGUSTING!!!  It was a good experience but after a few hours I was freezing and went back to dads.  Then we went to Logan's game that night and then to visit mom again.

Saturday was our Christmas we went and spent the afternoon with mom, it was really really nice being there with her and seeing her doing so well.  She loves Erika(one of the girls that works there) which is so nice to see.  And what is even better Erika Loves her just as much!  It is comforting to see.  It is incredible hard to leave her every time but knowing how well she is doing makes it better.  Here are some pictures from mom's Christmas.  We brought some desserts and gave her presents and mom and dad gave us our presents.

Tristan, mom Landon, dad I thought this picture turned out great!  As crazy as it sounds it is not always easy getting all these guys to look at the camera, hard enough to get the three year olds but then my mom and then my dad is usually being silly.

Tristan and Gracie the boys love how much Gracie and Ellie love them and like to play with them.

The little ones colored which was nice to past time as we were unsure on how mom would be with all of us there and the craziness but I thought she did great!

The guys played cards, of course a Rosenmeyer event is not complete unless there are cards of some sort.

Mom and dad

This picture tears me up it is of Landon and grandma and they are giving him his Christmas present(money) but the best gift is the LOVE you see in this picture no matter where my mom's (grandma's) state of mind maybe she LOVES him and all her grandchildren the same.  LOVE!!

Wyatt and Ellie having some hot chocolate

This is Erika that loves mom just as much as mom loves her.  Dad also gave her a gift as she is like family now!

Erika being silly with my mom...putting whipped cream in her mouth:)

Cassie, mom and Brandon

Pretty good picture of us two I thought

I tell you what getting a family picture is not the easiest thing, man do these two little fella's feed off each other in the silliness category.  Love it though...most of the time.

t
This is our attempt of getting a picture of all the grandkids that were there (minus Caden, Mabel, Stella, Dustin, Tyler, and Kelli) not to bad between lighting and kids not all looking or wanting to be in the picture, I think it is a good one!

After mom's we went back to dad's got ready for church went to church then back to dad's for dinner and kids presents.  It was pretty low key and the cousins had so much fun playing together.  The boys love to go to the farm and play with their cousins.  They love all their cousins and amaze me how much they remember and how much they talk about them.

We all went in and got dad a new gun cabinet, the black one in the back he bought and then decided he wanted the bigger one (the grey one) so we got it for him.  Funny story Levi went in and got it and the next day dad went in to get it and was bummed to find out it was sold.  LOVE this MAN!!!
