Weeks go by so fast

I feel days go by so fast and now weeks are going by so fast, this time of year is even crazier then ever.  With basketball and having 4 games a week recruiting a day or two a nigh tor two on the phone recruiting doesn't leave much time for anything else.  I really do Love my job but sometimes I think is it worth it...especially when you lose a game( I know it is just a game right) that you should win.  It stinks when you care and work harder at making the right decisions as a coach and some of the players you are coaching don't seem to care or put as much into it so doesn't mean as much.  With that all being said we lost to Hastings Saturday a team we beat by 26 earlier in the year.  Some things I have come to realize this day and age is how consumed people are with technology and such.  Now don't get me wrong most of the time it is nice and some of the things I am at fault for too.  But this team(the ladies) are so consumed with tweeter, facebook, candy crush, etc. that they forget to enjoy the moment.  I am trying to make more of an effort not to be so "connected."  I will even catch myself at night when Jared and I have an hour before bed we are both on phones or computers working, on social media or whatever.  Whatever is on that can and should wait, being in the moment and such is much more important.  I challenge you all to put down the phone, computer for more time and spend it with your family or spouse or have some you time... I don't think you will recruit it.  I am trying to do some research on how to help these girls and the upcoming as it will only get worse and help them realize this.  We have thought about taking away phones before games and making them do this or that but do they really learn that way or do they just resent you and want to go against you?  Who knows, trial and error I guess maybe a way to find out.  Just a little tid bit I have been thinking about a lot lately.  We had some drama with some girls and it was all over tweeter, text and such no actually talking and it was the biggest drama we have had in a very long time!  Drama is so not worth the effort put into it.  Doing things on social media and texting not facebook is cowardish.

Onto the boys, they went to the Monster Trucks with daddy on Saturday while mommy was at her game.  They loved it for the most part, Landon on the first truck was a bit scared and started to cry but then was fine just stayed close to dad.  They have not stopped playing with their Monster Trucks since.  Tristan even has a chant going, Go Big Foot and now at home it is Go Big Red Foot(the red is for Huskers I think because Jared said there was not a red truck).  They were so excited to tell me Sunday morning all about the Monster trucks and how they went over cars and crushed them.  I hated to miss it but was glad they had fun.  It was a good daddy son bonding!

The boys and Jared had pit passes so before the show started they got to get up close to all the trucks.

Tristan pointing at everything...he was so excited

They were so busy looking at everything, Jared was having a hard time getting a picture.

Prayers for Blake

I am asking all you that read my blog to pray for Blake, I had wrote about him awhile back he is a good friend of ours little boy( a twin:)) that has been really sick after his kidney transplant.  They have been in the hospital since Dec. 7 (after being discharged after the transplant after three weeks) and are just ready to be home as a family and healthy.  I got word from Jamie(Blake's mom) this morning that they got moved back to the PICU floor because they are worried Blake's kidney is rejection, so please pray that this is not it and they find answers soon.  We pray for Blake every night and the boys ask about him and when we can play with him, I just tell them hopefully soon.  It breaks my heart for this family that they or anyone has to go through this.  So if you have an extra min. please pray for him and his family.  He is such a fighter but I feel he has fought enough and deserve a break.  Thank you all!

Sledding

As any of you know that look at the weather here in the Midwest is is suppose to be FREEZING, literally freezing!  Well, the boys had been asking to go sledding for days and I knew it was suppose to get cold so we wanted to get out there even for a little bit before it go really cold here. so today I came home early from work to take them sledding.  Jared was suppose to meet us at home but was a little late because he got busy at work.  Anyways, I got them all bundled up, many layers and myself and man is that a process by yourself as I am getting hot and they are getting hot and crabby and just want to get outside.  Anyways we made it soon enough and they LOVED it and had a lot of fun.  Of course with it just me I didn't bother with a camera, I know shocking huh?  They went in there little sleds and enjoyed that and then when Jared got home he blew up one of his snow tubes and they really liked that.  Tristan just giggled the whole way down the hill and then at the bottom fell off and started laughing!  I of course was enjoying it just as much they loved to just lay in the snow too.  If the weather gets nicer and we get more snow we will definitely be enjoying more sledding!

Have a great day!
