Starting the Climb!

The boys are starting the climb now as they are both beginning to gain weight.  Landon was 3-9 today, while Tristan was 3-7.  Still have UVC's and in isolettes.

Day Four in the NICU

Tristan dropped to 3-5.8 from his birthweight of 3-9.  That is totally normal for them to lose some of their weight.  Landon was 3-8.5, down from 3-13.5.  Landon started having some bradys...  Both came off oxygen today!

Day Three in the NICU

Landon weighed 3-9.5 today, while Tristan weighed 3-8.5.  Tristan is nearly back to his birth weight, which is a good thing!  Both boys are in isolettes and on oxygen. Tristan began having some apneas and bradys.

The Bodie Boys Have Names!

Baby A is now offically Landon and Baby B is Tristan.  We decided that we wanted names that sounded good together, but did not rhyme or start with the same letter.  We slept in a bit today since we had both been up for nearly 24 hours.  We went up to see the boys at 10:30 a.m.  They both started feeding tubes with 4 cc's.  Just so you know, a teaspoon is 5 cc's.  Was able to hold both boys today and did kangaroo care....what an awesome feeling.  Dad did kangaroo care with Landon, while Momma B had Tristan.  We had a lot of visitors today: Jamie & Brenda, Shawn & Jenny, Megan, Kate, Lisa & Lauren, Levi & Kristy and the kids...

Baby A....Baby B

Baby A was born at 8:11 a.m. and weighed  3-13.5.  He was 16 inches long.  Baby B was born two minutes and one push later at 8:13 a.m.  Baby B weighed 3-9 and was 17 inches long.  Both babies were healthy, although Baby B was a little squished in there.  Perhaps that is why they were so set on coming early!

The Back Story

For a little background information, we moved into our new house at the end of October and by Nov. 12, Jill was in the hospital with pre-term labor.  They gave the little guys steroids to help their lungs and such develop quicker.  The doctor thought we would have them any day, but we were able to hold them off for awhile.  Jill was in and out (but mostly in) the hospital.  She was able to come home to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner at our house with nearly the entire Rosenmeyer clan.  As that night went on, Jill's contractions kept getting worse.  We headed to the hospital around 11 p.m.  They tried everything to delay labor, but the boys were determined to see us!  At 1:30 a.m. she was moved to a labor and delivery room.  By 2:30, she was given an epidural.  Although she was nervous about it, she did great and felt much better.  At 3:45 she was dilated to 6-7.  She was able to nap from 4-5 and when they checked again at 5, she was dilated to 7-8.  At 5:30, it was 8-9 and her water broke during check-up.  We moved to the operating room.  We waited for a long time in the OR as when her water broke, she became less dilated (7-8).  Eventually, she starting trying to push and about 45 minutes later...

An Amazing Deal!

What an amazing day... November 26, 2010.  Athough it is "Black Friday" and we missed the doorbuster deals, we received the most amazing deal of all... identical twin boys!
