I feel days go by so fast and now weeks are going by so fast, this time of year is even crazier then ever. With basketball and having 4 games a week recruiting a day or two a nigh tor two on the phone recruiting doesn't leave much time for anything else. I really do Love my job but sometimes I think is it worth it...especially when you lose a game( I know it is just a game right) that you should win. It stinks when you care and work harder at making the right decisions as a coach and some of the players you are coaching don't seem to care or put as much into it so doesn't mean as much. With that all being said we lost to Hastings Saturday a team we beat by 26 earlier in the year. Some things I have come to realize this day and age is how consumed people are with technology and such. Now don't get me wrong most of the time it is nice and some of the things I am at fault for too. But this team(the ladies) are so consumed with tweeter, facebook, candy crush, etc. that they forget to enjoy the moment. I am trying to make more of an effort not to be so "connected." I will even catch myself at night when Jared and I have an hour before bed we are both on phones or computers working, on social media or whatever. Whatever is on that can and should wait, being in the moment and such is much more important. I challenge you all to put down the phone, computer for more time and spend it with your family or spouse or have some you time... I don't think you will recruit it. I am trying to do some research on how to help these girls and the upcoming as it will only get worse and help them realize this. We have thought about taking away phones before games and making them do this or that but do they really learn that way or do they just resent you and want to go against you? Who knows, trial and error I guess maybe a way to find out. Just a little tid bit I have been thinking about a lot lately. We had some drama with some girls and it was all over tweeter, text and such no actually talking and it was the biggest drama we have had in a very long time! Drama is so not worth the effort put into it. Doing things on social media and texting not facebook is cowardish.
Onto the boys, they went to the Monster Trucks with daddy on Saturday while mommy was at her game. They loved it for the most part, Landon on the first truck was a bit scared and started to cry but then was fine just stayed close to dad. They have not stopped playing with their Monster Trucks since. Tristan even has a chant going, Go Big Foot and now at home it is Go Big Red Foot(the red is for Huskers I think because Jared said there was not a red truck). They were so excited to tell me Sunday morning all about the Monster trucks and how they went over cars and crushed them. I hated to miss it but was glad they had fun. It was a good daddy son bonding!

The boys and Jared had pit passes so before the show started they got to get up close to all the trucks. |
